Rega launch the Planar 6 turntable
T he Rega Planar 6, the successor to the RP6, comes with a new power supply or PSU the NEO and the RB330 arm. The package can be factory fitted with the new Ania MC cartridge (£1398) or be bought without a cartridge. The Rega Planar 6 or P6 is the first new Rega turntable to be constructed with an ultra lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core plinth (a material developed for the aerospace industry). This material is sandwiched between a new HPL (high pressure laminate). HPL is exceptionally thin whilst extremely rigid and is presented in a stunning Polaris matt grey finished with high gloss polymer black edge trim.

T he Rega Brio 2017, at £598, is a ½ width case, 50 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms, integrated amp that includes an MM phono stage and for the first time in a Brio, a headphone output. The Brio 2017 is an upgraded version of its predecessor, the Brio-R. Key improvements are a brand new case design, a complete overhaul of the electronic circuitry and that already mentioned headphone output.

Rega Launch The Planar 1 Turntable
T he Rega Planar 1 turntable or P1 is a new addition to the Planar turntable range and sits below the existing Planar 2 and Planar 3. The Planar 1 is a complete turntable package and comes with the Rega RB110 tonearm ( which features Rega’s bespoke zero play bearings) and Rega Carbon cartridge. As such you only need to set the bias and fit and set the counter weight to be up and spinning vinyl. Other features of note in the Planar 1 are a 24v, low noise, synchronous motor to reduce vibrational transfer.

Rega Launch The New Planar 2 - Turntable
T he New Rega Planar 2 comes in at £375 and is a complete re-working of Rega's classic Planar 2 turntable. The Planar 2 includes an arm and cartridge in the package. For the Planar 2 it’s the RB220 tonearm, which features new ultra-low friction ball bearings, a stiffer bearing housing, and an automatic bias setting. Cartridge wise you get the Rega Carbon MM cartridge.

R ega's new RX speaker range were seen for the first time at the Bristol HiFi Show 2015. Very hot of the press the exhibited versions were only put together days before the show. There are three models in the RX range - the RX One (approx. £500-£700) is a two way stand mounted design, the RX Three (approx. £1,200-£1,500) is a small floor stander and the largest of the range the RX Five (approx. £1,800-£2,000) is also a floor stander. Prices have yet to be set by Rega so only price ranges are available currently.

T he £598 Rega DAC-R is the successor to the very well received Rega DAC. The Rega DAC-R specialises in PCM material, if you have a DSD collection, this USB DAC won’t be for you. Decoding is up to 24 bit 192 kHz (indicated by illuminated front panel lights). The Rega DAC-R is fully asynchronous (i.e. asynchronous across all digital inputs) to minimize jitter.
