T he Marantz SA-10 is a CD and SACD player, a Hi-Res audio capable USB DAC and dedicated headphone amp all in the one box. The SA-10 is Marantz’s top of the range SACD player and has seen Marantz take a step back from CD Player design (something they’ve been in some time now going back to the original CD-63) and rethink and redesign a whole player. The redesign starts from the CD transport mechanism, which is Marantz’s brand new SACD-M3 transport mechanism. The SACD-M3, as well as playing conventional CD and SACD disks can play DVD-ROM disks. A user then can burn Hi-Res Audio files to a DVD disk and can then use the SA-10 to play 24 bit FLAC files from 32 kHz to 192 kHz, resolution, and DSD64 and DSD128, as well as ALAC (Apple Lossless), AIFF and MP3 files.

T he Marantz PM-10 is the Marantz's top of the range integrated amp. The PM-10 is a fully balanced, dual mono design, offering a very powerful 200 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms and the full 400 Watts per channel into 4 Ohms. Marantz describe the PM-10 as a pre-amplifier and two monoblock power amps, squeezed into the one chassis. There are no digital inputs in the PM-10, it's a pure analogue integrated amp. However the PM-10 does offer a headphone amp and both an MM and MC phono stage.

T he Marantz HD-CD1 is a CD Player with digital (optical and coax) and analogue RCA outputs coupled with a headphone amp. No digital inputs to the DAC section or SACD replay though. The HD-CD1 complements the recently released HD-AMP1 and HD-DAC1. The new HD-CD1 CD Player is expected to be available in September 2016 for $599, UK price is T.B.A. The HD-CD1 also features a solid aluminium front panel, double-layer chassis for vibration isolation and retro-style side panels.

T he Marantz PM6006 integrated amp will retail in the US at $699 (UK price is currently T.B.A.). The new Marantz PM6006 replaces the award winning PM6005. Like the PM6005 the PM6006 also includes digital inputs (there’s an extra optical input in the PM6006). In the PM6006 the amplifier section has been upgraded to allow higher peak currents which Marantz have then used to refine the sound quality of the PM6006.

T he Marantz CD6006 CD Player, USB DAC and Headphone amp will retail in the US at $499 and replaces the Marantz CD6005. The new CD6006 is a fine-tuned model with even more specially selected components and new layout circuits compared to the CD6005 predecessor. The oversized power supply feeds the digital and analogue circuitry of the player, where the high-quality CS4398 DAC handles the digital decoding. The signal is ‘pushed’ to the gold-plated cinch outputs by Marantz’s own small signal amplifier, the HDAM-SA2. For those who like portable music, it comes with iPod-digital connectivity. The CD6006 plays back MP3, WMA, WAV and AAC files from a connected USB storage device and directly plays back users iDevice music through its high quality DAC. The CD6006 features a newly developed, complex headphone amplifier with Headphone amp gain setting for a wider range of headphones. To further eliminate vibration the CD6006 has a feet upgrade !, sturdier and more rigid feet were added to the CD6006. Th CD6006 and the matching PM6006 integrated amp share the same remote control unit.

T he Marantz NA6005 is a dedicated network audio player or streamer that retails for £279. The NA6005 adds steaming capabilities to the Marantz 6005 series which already includes an integrated amp the PM6005 and a CD Player, the CD6005. Amongst the extensive features of the NA6005 there’s wireless streaming functionality including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (via dual Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antennas), and Airplay. There’s even Internet Radio via vTuner and the capability to use the NA6005 as a standalone DAC via the optical connection.

T he Marantz HD-AMP1 (yours for £799) is a miniature integrated amp that also includes a USB DAC and Headphone amp. The DAC stage is no slouch, being able to decode DSD (up to DSD256) and DXD and also includes two digital filters known as Marantz Musical Digital Filtering (MMDF). Optical and coaxial digital inputs are also included. The miniature integrated amp stage offers 70 Watts per channel into 4 Ohms via Class D amplification - A first for Marantz.

T he Marantz SA-14S1 Special Edition retails at £1,799 and is a SACD and CD Player as well as a USB DAC. The DAC section is taken from the NA-11S1 Network player or streamer. (Infact Marantz says it’s almost identical but the NA-11S1 currently retails for £2,500). The DAC section has optical and coax digital input as well as an asynchronous USB type B input for direct connection to a computer. The USB connection benefits from Marantz’s latest ground/signal isolator technology, to virtually eliminate electrical noise coming from the computer down the USB cable. The USB input can decode up to 24 bit 192 kHz PCM computer audio and also both DSD 2.8 MHz and 5.6 MHz or DSD128. For lesser resolution files from an iPod or iPhone there’s a USB input on the front to play MP3, WAV, and AAC formats.

T he Marantz PM-14S1 Special Edition - Integrated Amp offers 90 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 140 watts per channel into 4 ohms. There are no digital inputs though, the matching SA-14S1 SACD Player / USB DAC provides these. The PM-14S1 offers a phono and CD input and two further analogue inputs. There are also two pairs of input/outputs for recording or connection to an external headphone amp. The PM-14S1 is very flexible and can be configured as an analogue preamp or as a power amp and two PM-14S1s can be connected together for bi-amping.
