Denon Launch The AH-D7200 - Over-Ear Headphones
T he AH-D7200 are Denon’s new top of the range over ear headphone, and come in at £699. The AH-D7200 headphones use Denon’s Japanese-made FreeEdge drivers, which have been designed to use an extremely accurate piston motion to offer a high sound quality. The FreeEdge drivers are mounted on vibration reducing resin baffles, which are in turn fitted into self-damping real walnut wood housings. The walnut wood has been chosen to bring warmth and life to the sound. The ear cups of the AH-D7200 are suspended on a headband finished in real sheepskin leather and the memory foam ear-cushions are covered with very soft artificial leather.

T he Denon DCD-1600NE is a CD/SACD Player that can also play Hi-Res audio from DVDs. The DCD-1600NE is based on and is the smaller brother of Denon’s flagship the DCD-2500NE, and replaces the DCD-2010AE. In the DCD-1600NE, Denon have focussed on the basics of ultra-high precision reading of discs and supplying the highest-quality audio signal as output. This has been achieved by short signal paths, a redesigned disc transport, and the use of Advanced AL32 Processing Plus circuitry.

T he Denon PMA-1600NE is an integrated amp with USB DAC , both MM and MC phono stage and a headphone amp all within the one box. The PMA-1600NE is based on its bigger brother the flagship PMA-2500NE, and replaces the PMA-2010AE. The DAC section of the PMA-1600NE can be switched off, in analogue mode, for an improvement in sound quality when using the PMA-1600NE as a pure integrated amp. When in use the rear USB-B input and embedded high quality D/A converter, can play hi-res audio files up to 384kHz/32bit and DSD up to 11.2MHz from a computer.

T he Denon HEOS Link HS2 (yours for £299) is an upgraded version of the original Denon Link. HS2 allows both wired (analogue and digital) and wireless connection into the Denon HEOS network. There are two new features in the HS2. Firstly the HS2 has support for Hi-Res Audio. The HS2 is capable of playing WAV, ALAC and FLAC in formats up to 24 bit/192 kHz sample rates. There will be support for AIFF and DSD incoming via a future software update. Secondly Denon have added direct Bluetooth support. This means you can stream directly to HS2 without having to download and install an app.

I n a major announcement, Denon and Marantz brands have introduced many new additions to their higher end AVRs including the introduction of multi-room and online technology from its HEOS platform Denon AVR models getting the new functionality include the 4300H and 6300H. Launching in October 2016, the 4300H will have integrated HEOS functionality providing access to Spotify, Soundcloud, TuneIn, Deezer, Tidal, Napster and compatibility with other HEOS products. The unit will also have Wi-Fi 2.4 & 5 GHz and Bluetooth built-in, 9x 200W amp with 11.2 processing, DDSC-HD with AL24 Processing Plus and new high performance 192kHz/32bit DAC. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, AURO 3D (upgrade) are also on board and the machine boasts 7+1 HDMI with 4K 60Hz pass through (HDCP2.2), triple HDMI outputs with multi-source/multi-zone and AudysseyMultEQ XT32/LFC partnered by a new Audyssey App. The 6300H takes things up a notch with the same HEOS in-built capabilities, connectivity, 3D audio, connectivity suite and Audyssey tech, but over 11x 20W with 11.2 proc. and 13.2 pre-out, 4K 60Hz Scaling and 1080p Scaling.

T he Denon DCD-2500NE is currently Denon's top of the range SACD and CD player. The DCD-2500NE can also playback Hi-Res Audio recordings up to 24 bit / 192 kHz for PCM and DSD up to 5.6 MHz if the computer audio files are recorded on a DVD R/RW. The DCD-2500NE focuses on the two essentials of an disc player - (1) ultra-high precision in reading discs and (2) supplying high-quality audio signals to the amp. To achieve the second of these, the signal paths are as short as possible and the whole circuitry is minimized. To achieve the first the disc drive mechanism brackets and the chassis have been designed to eliminate vibration, the great enemy of disc players, and achieve ultra-vibration-resistant performance.

T he £199 Denon HEOS 1 is both a Bluetooth speaker and dual band Wi-Fi audio streaming speaker. Portable devices maybe connected digitally via USB or at line level via an analogue line in. Inside the speaker there a DSP to do the Digital Signal Processing , dual Class D amplification and a custom sound equalization. Drive unit wise, there are two drivers, a wide range mid-woofer and precision dome tweeter. The box is also moisture resistant so the HEOS 1 can even be used in bathrooms !
Two Heos 1 Speakers can be paired for stereo listening and can stream from Spotify, Deezer, Napster Or Tunein. It can also stream Internet radio.
